Yellow Honeycomb VS Black Honeycomb: What's The Difference?

When we think of a honeycomb, we automatically imagine it to be a golden yellow color, but did you know that there are other colors?

The yellow honeycomb is mainly used for storing honey. Bees pollinate flowers and chew their pollen. This is how honey is created! It is then stored in the cells of their hive. Thus, the honeycomb that was used for this reason is yellow in color.

The honeycomb takes on darker colors, such as brown or black, when these cells have contained bee larvae. Thus, the black color is obtained after an accumulation of pollen, bee saliva and other debris.

Both types of honeycomb are 100% edible and have several health benefits.
